Feeling Artsy? Well then get ready for the El Segundo Art Walk. The hit gathering is celebrating its fourth year. If the past few are any indication, then this looks to be another great one.
El Segundo city council recently voted unanimously to commit $33,000 towards the project. This will allow the City’s Plaza to be the event headquarters.
The El Segundo Art Walk started in 2015 with conversations of local business people who were involved in artistic endeavors here in town. The discussion soon led to the artistic community and how having a night dedicated to showing their wares may be a success story. The event has grown every year since.
This year’s even will kick off on Thursday, June 21st. It will run for the three months, wrapping up on August the 16th. They are looking at over 30 businesses participating. The businesses basically act as pop-up galleries for various artists. The route basically runs along through much of downtown and Smokey Hollow.
The fee for qualifying businesses to participate is $50. The same amount is set for artists unless they are a student, in that case it is $25.
