Workshop Enoteca quietly opens in El Segundo and is now serving lunches. The much-anticipated restaurant apparently opened its doors on Thursday, June 14. Lunches are currently being served. Dinners and brunches are on the way.
The restaurant is the workings of Jackson Kalb and Melissa Saka. The eating place will feature a California-Italian flavor. They will showcase hand-rolled pasta along with other fresh offerings.
Kalb has a serious resume as a Michelin-trained chef. He was the chef de cuisine at Factory Kitchen. He has also spent time with Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas and Union Square Cafe in New York City.
Saka spent a number of years with the Hillstone Restaurant Group. That company owns Houston’s and Palm Beach Grill among others. This project gives her a chance to escape the corporate world.
The new eatery comes at an interesting time in El Segundo. Over the past year there has been some movement on the local restaurant scene. The location it is going into went from Mandy’s to Johnny Memphis BBQ.
El Segundo Observer noticed the sign was up last night so grabbed some night-time pics. Expect a photo update today.
Workshop Enoteca is located at 241 Main St.
